Films
Using the camera on my phone I create visual poetry out of moving images. A dialogue with nature, and with the viewer, I bring the witness along with me, there is always the 'other' or the person coming after. Alluding to interior landscapes and hidden worlds, the layered imagery brings the witness closer. I am interested in creating intimacy, connection and an in-the-body experience so that the witness may choose to pick up any of the threads offered and enter into the dialogue I begun with the camera, the weather, and my body moving through spaces connecting to places. I always try to leave an invitation for the witness to become a conscious co-creator. Filming, I am moving through a process of thinking with movement. When I stitch them together I begin to express myself with collage of impressions - sound, light, silence, shadow, colour. When the work is completed I invite people to experience the film. With every ending and completion there is a beginning and an opening. Like breath. And it's like we are breathing together. (Notes , 3.11.21)
