Summer Time
on creativity and will (part 2)
|
Summer Mother says: like the man who toils, my energy must be directed in short bursts and balanced with leisure, play and relaxation, just being beneath the sky in a state of non-doing. I nurture, tend, concoct and relish. I am creativity in motion.
Beauty lands upon my life like the butterfly and blood rose. The heat of is tempered with herbs like cilantro and sage. I am love blooming in the heart. I am laughter and I am twinned. Summer Mother says there is work to be done in service, in love, in respect for the course charted. Take the time to smell the roses, proclaim your joys, and walk the path of tending, picking, arranging and resting.
Wake with the sun and sleep at dusk. The toil is long but it leaves room for leisure. Appreciate and spend time with your fellows. Sing their names and support their living. There is still time to sow and pick in time for harvest season. Work hard. Play soulfully. And pick and tend to the growth of both your personal realm and our nation.
Hold fast to that which you determined must be done, and never give up. Employ the motion of creativity and creative processing like the fruit is picked and bottled and the words are writ for sharing and the bread is baked for eating. In the motion of picking and processing your work is fuelled, developed and made ready. Summer is the season of work and preparation lest your earlier efforts be wasted, your environment overgrown and the balance tipped.
Tend to your creations so they may grow full and strong, bounteous and nourishing. Share your table and rest by the fire in your hearth with gratitude and in contemplation for the revisions of the present determined the harvest of your future and many depend on your health and bounty. We are the river and the field the sun and the moon. The ocean and the fish. The fire and the fruit. We are the summer of your year, the summer of your life, the summer of your project. The summer of your earth.
